I dream, Lord, that I might play masterpieces of music to Your glory.  So I learned how to play many instruments.  And although I learned the skills, You never gave me the gift.

   I dream, Lord, that I might write songs for You.  I imagined crafting just the right words, arranged to beautiful melodies that would express to the world what You really mean to me.  But even though I know all the music theory, You never gave me a song.

   I dream, Lord, of singing Your praise to millions of listeners, filling their hearts with my own joy of knowing You.  But though You gave me a beautiful voice of power, You never gave me a stage.

   I dream, Lord, that poetry will flow from my heart, words that would rival the psalms for their majesty and expression of love for You.  But even though my heart and mind were full of You, You never gave me expression.

   I dream, Lord, that powerful tomes might flow from my mind and through my pen, expressions of wisdom moving millions to new levels of faith in You.  But while You gave me the knowledge, yet You have never granted me a subject on which to write.

   I have even dared to dream, Lord, of preaching Your word before thousands, moving them to flock to Your altar.  But even though the words I speak in Your name contain great power by Your Spirit, yet You have never given me the audience.

   But though my dreams are not fulfilled, Lord, yet they are full, filled to overflowing with You.  My heart overflows with Your music.  Your word floods my mind and my heart.  And though I've never seen You face to face in this life, yet I see You every day.  When I sing and when I play, I sing to You for myself, but others hear.  When I write, Lord, I spill out my heart to You, but others read.  I speak my heart's desire that other people would know You as I know You, and what they hear is Your hearts desire.  And when they hear, they come to You.
